Humans constantly seek the meaning of life, the world, and their existence. Any effort which could help one discover the real meaning of life, and what it means to be human, is a step towards having a better, and more beautiful world.
Humans constantly seek the meaning of life, the world, and their existence. This being felt, I decided to create a space to gather people of all ages and interests, to show a new perspective of life and to allow them lose fear of death.
Here, instead of using only a single sense, one needs to utilize almost all of their senses: vision, hearing, smell, and touch.
The main idea of this project is to guide people through
different paths of life and its important stages, and to simulate the ups and downs of the journey of life.
The journey starts by choosing one of the three entrances in order to enter the building. The number of the entrances symbolizes three groups of people by their beliefs. People who believe in a religion, people who are atheists, and people who believe in science.
Inside each entrance, there is a long staircase which seems to have no end. There is only a distant light which the staircase eventually leads to. Upon reaching and stepping into this light the BIRTH experience will be complete.
After Birth, every one ends up in the same place, the lobby, there is only one hallway to continue the journey because as a newborn, one does not get to make many decisions.
By taking the hallway, we reach the second important stage in one’s life; PUBERTY. This is the phase that humans mostly feel confused and maybe lost.
As in real life, after this stage we get to choose the path we want to take which leads us to a maze. In the maze there are wide and narrow hallways and even dead-ends. Upon reaching a dead-end we will need to turn back in order to continue the journey; however, we can enjoy breathtaking views of the city while we are there. All of this is to create the ups and downs that we encounter in real life.
By reaching the center of the maze we take a long ramp with a fascinating view and reach the last stage; DEATH.
The journey ends by entering the INFINITY room. Where we will find ourselves in a space which neither has a beginning nor an end.
